Last night we got the best giggle ever!!! We've only heard her giggle twice before, but this was like an intentional giggle. It is SO CUTE! Please excuse my raspy sick voice and focus on how cute her laugh is!! I cried!

Sick baby...

This is our sick baby :(  This is her first illness and it is the worst.... And it is no picnic for Jillian either!! We did what any good new parents do and Google her symptoms, and then ended up calling the doc and taking her to the pediatrician the next morning. They said she has a mild case of croup! (and yes, we had to Google what croup was too....) We spent the next 2 nights taking turns sleeping on the floor in the nursery because we were so nervous about her coughing and scattered breathing! She seems to be a little better now, but you can tell she is still sad and not feeling well 😞 She's asking Santa for a clean bill of health for Christmas!!

Look who's excited for Christmas!

1 year ago....

1 year ago today we found out we were pregnant! It was 6am on a Monday morning....I got the positive pregnancy test and waited for Steve to get out of the shower so I could tell him. We were so excited, and shocked!! What a whirlwind - it's unbelievable how much life has changed in the past year! From Dec 16, 2013, to Dec 16, 2014...

We took this about a week after I found out I was pregnant - just a few days before Christmas! It was the best Christmas present ever :)

 

Oh my how we've grown!! And I mean that literally and figuratively...(phew luckily I've shrunk a little bit over the past 4 months....)

Life could not be any more different than it was a year ago! We are SO thankful for this healthy, beautiful, funny baby girl! We are just smitten with our little buddy :)

It's over.....

Well, it's over. My reign as the decaf queen has officially ended. I have PROUDLY been caffeine free for 2 years, 1 month, and 28 days....until today. I worked so hard to become caffeine free and went through serious withdrawal and coffee headaches but I made the switch so long ago and was so proud! But today is a rough day, followed by a rough night with Jillian, and I've turned to the dark side again! Ugh!!! My eyes burn and I can barely keep them open at work. So I had no choice and ordered a half-caff this morning after dropping jillybean off at daycare! Oh the horror!!!!!!! I asked my sister and veteran mom of FOUR if she thought I could keep up my decaf ways when I started back at work. She laughed hysterically and said "NO." Well I made it almost 2.5 weeks at work without it, but now I give into the temptation out of sheer desperation! Looks like you were right dear sister....! I'll be at Starbucks if you're looking for me.....

Jillian's First Thanksgiving

You may be wondering how Jillian's first Thanksgiving was...well it was amazing! She started off Thanksgiving week by hanging out with Daddy while I went back to work. They had loads of fun.

And they hung out in the baby carrier!!

Then Jillian ventured up north to help Nana make pies!

Then she went to her Aunt Jen and Uncle Mike's house for Thanksgiving dinner!

She hung out with her little cousins

If you're wondering if Steve and I made a cornucopia made of dough, the answer is YES! 

And if you're wondering if we made a cheeseball in the shape of a turkey, the answer would be OF COURSE!!

Then she sang songs with Nana

Then she and Uncle Phil taught mom and dad some seriously amazing soothing tricks! I'd tell you what they were, but they're patented and copyrighted by the amazing Uncle Phil!

Then Jillian supervised the carving of the turkeys

Then she met her beautiful friend Christina, who was born just a few weeks before she was!

Then she got entertained by her cousins and new friends!

Then she held Daddy up before the tryptophan took over...

Then later throughout the weekend she kissed Grandma!

Then she learned how to FLY!

She loves to fly to Grandpa!

Then she got to hang out with Grandma, Grandpa, Daddy, Auntie Theresa, Uncle Dave, and Aunt Rachael while mommy was Christmas shopping on black Friday!

She got to meet Auntie Theresa! She was so excited, I think they're BFFs already...!
