Busy Busy

Jillian is a very busy 8 month old...time flies when you're busy looking cute all day!

She's been busy sporting her new sun hat, which is maybe our favorite thing she's ever worn! (Also kind of resembling her cousin Olivia in this pic I think!)

She's been busy wearing her cupcake shirt from Aunt Lauren!

And she's been busy strolling around the hood!

Giggles for days

We got Jillian a little turtle car thing for Easter and she loves it. She can't figure out how to push it herself, but she thinks its hilarious when Daddy pushes it. Check out her belly laughs!!

Self Feeding!

Last night Jillian self-fed for the first time! She's dabbled in it the past few weeks, but finally was successful last night. And guess what food made her transition?? TOFU! Yes, she's discovered the joy of soy at just 7.9 mo old! I'm so proud!

Clearly she's related to Aunt Rachael (tofu!) and Aunt Jen (cheese!)

It was amazing to watch her do it after not quite getting it for the past few weeks. It's crazy how it just clicked one day!!

Transitions

Jillian's daycare has 3 separate 'baby' rooms which are divided up between 6 weeks and 18 months. They make the transition from the baby Caterpillar room to the Turtle room once they can crawl (or close to it). She hasn't started crawling yet but we think she's just a few weeks away from it (yikes!), so this week they're transitioning to her to the Turtle room. The first part of the week she spends a few hours a day in the big-girl room, and will be a full time Turtle at the end of the week! Daddy is handling it well, but Mommy is having a mild heart attack...our little baby is growing up!!! She's been doing well though and seems to like her new teachers. She's also among friends - her boyfriend (yes, she has one!) and her gal pal have similar birthdays so all 3 of them are making the transition together this week. It's a bittersweet milestone for sure, but at least she looks totally cute in these pics!

She wore her fancy pants and I even combed her hair for her first day as a Turtle this week! Who is this big girl??!

Special Rattle

Jillian is a master of the rattle these days. She realized she can make noise with it and she just goes to town with it! But this isn't just any old rattle, it's a very special rattle that was a hand-me-down from Aunt Jen. Jillian's Great Grandma Grigger bought this rattle for baby Addie when she was born and we are truly honored to play with it now almost 8 years later! We know Great Grandma would be thrilled knowing that this is now her 5th great grandchild to play with it :)

Jillian's First Easter!

Were you wondering how Jillian's first Easter was?? Well it was AMAZING!! I've been busy sorting through 300+ pics (oops!) and have selected a few of my favs. Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa for celebrating with us!

Her first Easter basket! Grandma & Grandpa so generously babysat for us on Saturday night so we could go get a basket and some goodies for Jillybean...and dinner and drinks too.....!! :)

We brought this table runner back from Switzerland 3 years ago....glad we finally got to use it!
